YOUR WAGES IN 2022

Why workers need a pay increase in 2022

Under your previous agreements, union members won a fair annual wage increases of 2.5% each year.  But that has not kept pace with the cost of living increases every Queenslander is experiencing.

All the major cost of living pressures are increasing at the fastest rates in a decade, including housing, household items and food.  If wages stay at 2.5% increases while these costs climb, you can only eat into your savings or reduce your expenditure.

Together members have a strong history of campaigning and winning big shifts in Queensland Government wages policy when it’s needed most.  And you can do it in 2022.

You can improve your wages and working life

2022 presents you with a rare opportunity to win a significant wage increase above 2.5%, by campaigning with Together members across all of Queensland Health and the public sector for better wages.

There are many Public Service workers who are bargaining in 2022, due to the extension of some agreements to this year. This also coincides with other major public sector negotiations.

In 2022 the wage increases you see will depend on union members working together, across professions: Health admin officers, librarians, social workers, schools support staff, doctors, nurses and teacher aids standing together to demand better than 2.5% Governments Wages Policy.

If you are going to win, you and your colleagues need to be united, and ready to stand up for what you deserve. You are stronger when you stand together.
