How could Morrison's Religious Discrimination bill affect you?

Scott Morrison’s Religious Discrimination Bill has the potential for dangerous consequences at work.

It means our laws would not protect us all at work, equally.

Right now, the Federal Government is undertaking an Inquiry about the Religious Discrimination Bill. Our national union, the ASU is asking members to take part in a short survey to hear directly from ASU members about your views on the Bill and how it could impact you at work.

Take our short survey here and have your voice heard.

The Federal government should be making workplaces safer for everyone, not enabling discrimination. This Bill doesn’t protect people from discrimination. It would expose workers – religious or not – to the threat of being sacked because of who they are or who they love.

For example- these laws could allow workplaces to discriminate against a single mother for having a child out of wedlock, or discriminate against someone because they are divorced. This is not fair and it must be stopped.

Together we can ensure our workplaces are fair and equal.

By completing this short survey you’re helping us understand the potential impact this Bill could have on you and your workplace, and the people you care about.

Every worker deserves the right to a safe and respectful workplace, regardless of their religion, sexual orientation, sex, gender identity, disability, or other personal attribute.

That’s what unions fight for every day.
