We're upgrading to a new system

Together is upgrading our membership system as part of our process to improve how we support and protect members.

Later this year your union will be relaunching the member-only portal on the Together website. Once launched, this updated portal will provide better access to union resources, advice, and support when you need them.

These changes will make a real difference to how accessible our union is to all members.

Part of these changes includes upgrading our membership system which underpins the member-only section of the Together website.

The changes to the membership system are scheduled to occur from 1 July but will involve some reduced capacity of the existing system from Wednesday 24 June.

While the existing scheduled subscription runs of members' fees will still occur on Wednesday 24 June, there will not be the option for individual members to pay their subscriptions via the website from Wednesday 24 June until Wednesday 1 July.

Members will also have reduced functionality to update their details during this period. The online membership join form will also look different for this period and will not record new members' financial details.

When the new system is operational it will provide improved capacity to manage members' details. This has enabled your union to introduce new membership tiers from 1 July that include three tiers for part-time workers.

This new tiering system will mean that many part-time members will be paying lower subscription rates from 1 July, depending on how many hours they work.

Once the system is operational, your union will be contacting members to ensure that your details are correct and the new fee structure can be applied to eligible members.

While Together has been able to reduce some members' fees for people working part-time, the increase in other members' subscriptions will be 3.5%. This aligns with the State Wage Case increase members are paid under their Award, and also the increase most members in the public sector received through collective bargaining agreements finalised in last year's bargaining round.

If you work part-time or casually please keep an eye out for union communications after 1 July that will advise that the new system has been successfully deployed, and will allow you to update your employment details.

Some members pay their annual union subscriptions before the end of the financial year to get early access to the benefit of their tax deductibility. If you wish to pay your 2026/27 union subscriptions prior to 30 June this year, please email us at your.union@together.org.au and we will contact you individually to arrange your payment via BPAY.

Members will receive an email about their tax statements after the end of the financial year.
